Val De Vienne

We made our first foray into France at the beginning of June and what a great trip. We managed the transportation of 13 race cars and supported 12 over four days of practice, qualifying and racing at the Circuit Val de Vienne deep in the country,  France SE of Poitiers.

We featured in three races at the 22nd Sport et Collection meeting, run by the Ferrari Owners Club of France and in aid of local cancer charities. The reception received from the organisers and the large crowds were great....."you Anglais race these beautiful cars but we French just polish them in our garages!".

The track was new to all the grid bar David Edge and includes a terrific long back straight, some fast Spa like bends and three second gear tight corners.

With two practise sessions, one qualifying and three races we all got plenty of seat time and for David with his F40 and Richard with his 360 Challenge lots more track time with a fantastic mix of other cars at the event.

Nigel picked up a hat trick of outright wins in his super reliable 355 Challenge unfortunately running as an invite because of regulation issues.

We had success all over the grid with both Lee and Vance getting an outright 2nd and a Class win, Pete getting 2 outright 5ths and his first Class trophy in the powerful but tricky 550, Richard picked up 3 Class 2nds and Paul a Class win.

David delighted everyone by bringing his F40 and taking it on track at every opportunity, whilst to Myles' delight, he took delivery of his beautiful 430 Challenge brought up from Lisbon over the weekend.

All round a great weekend. We look forward to returning a bientot.
